Recuerdos is a coffee residency located inside Bar Ana that brings storytelling and nostalgia to provide innovative beverages as a vehicle to uplift the stories of immigrants and child of immigrants as a way to bridge community. Recuerdos is also available for weddings, corporate events, festivals, and private consulting!

Entrance can be found in the back lower level of the El Ponce building at the dark green door labeled “Bar Ana”.

It's basically a speak easy coffee joint. The door is at the back of the restaurant. Find it! This is a must try place, must visit place, must frequent place! The latte and coffee tonic were both incredible! The service is excellent and the space is unusual, but super chill and comfortable.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I loved the coffee. Loved that they sold ceremonial matcha. The owner was very kind and told me about the history of recuerdos - started as a pop up and moved to ponce. There’s parking in the back, free WiFi, available seating and good speakeasy vibes. I got the cafe de olla and it was delicious! I enjoyed and will be back!

Recuerdos is a more than a pretty coffee shop with delicious coffee and pastries. And it is not just a place for the community to enjoy, it is community and its culture. You can feel the heart, intention and purpose Ivan poured into the business and into every cup of coffee. Try the vanilla matcha, BEST IN ATLANTA!

Recuerdos is a gem of a coffee shop! Tucked away in the beautifully renovated space beneath El Ponce, Recuerdos is a labor of love by husband and wife team Ivan and Carly. They source wonderful coffee from Mexico, which you can have in an espresso drink, as pourover, or incorporated into one of the creative seasonal beverages with syrups made in house. The café de olla holds a special place in my heart and is a love letter to Mexico. For non-coffee drinkers, they offer excellent matcha and chai lattes and seasonal offerings as well. Service is warm and attentive, it's clear that there's love and pride and attention to detail in everything about Recuerdos. If you have your drink on site, it will be served in beautiful ceramic mug designed by local artist Charlotte Smith! Last but not least, there's a small selection of pastries and a fantastic breakfast sandwich (add avocado!) from Chef Claudia of Bar Ana, with whom Recuerdos shares the space. I love Recuerdos and so will you. Logistics: you can park for free in the El Ponce parking lot. Enter from the back, through the green door on the right that says Bar Ana. The “secret” coffee spot inside Bar ANA is called REGUERDOS, and wow — what a cup of coffee. I drink a lot of coffee, and this might be one of the best lattes I’ve had in Atlanta. You can actually taste the flavor notes — smooth, rich, and beautifully presented. It honestly took me back to some of my favorite coffee shops in Kenya, where the flavor really speaks for itself. Customer service was just as impressive. Cheers to Sasha (I believe that was her name) for the warm welcome, and to our barista — whose name I didn’t catch — for crafting such a delicious latte. Highly recommend this spot, whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or meeting someone to connect. In Sweden, we have a tradition called fika — slowing down to enjoy coffee and conversation.
